HTC Group’s Light Commercial Vehicle Director, Justin Seal, is thrilled to share the resounding success of our recent venture into electric mobility. Our decision to integrate electric vans into our parts department fleet was driven by a commitment to sustainability and innovation headed by Justin and his colleagues.

Before implementing electric vans into the parts fleet, Justin meticulously assessed our needs, analysing daily mileage and route feasibility to ensure a seamless transition. This careful planning laid the groundwork for a successful trial, minimising disruptions while maximising efficiency.

Despite initial concerns regarding range anxiety, our dedicated team provided comprehensive training and support to our parts driver. Through education on efficient driving techniques and the benefits of regenerative braking, our driver was empowered to embrace electric mobility with confidence.

The results of a trial surpassed expectations, with the electric van proving superior in performance and delivering significant cost savings. Analysis of vehicle data revealed a remarkable £207.22 reduction in diesel costs over 1200 miles, accompanied by a significant reduction in CO2 emissions by 497kg, highlighting the tangible benefits of electric mobility.

Encouraged by the positive outcomes, we have made the decision to permanently integrate electric vans into our parts department fleet. With the same driver seamlessly transitioning to the EV, we are proud to champion sustainability while enhancing operational efficiency.

At HTC Group, we believe in leading by example, and our successful adoption of electric vehicles underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Furthermore, this strategic shift towards electric mobility aligns seamlessly with our overarching goal of supporting businesses in achieving carbon-free transport solutions. As part of the DAF Trucks journey towards zero emission transport, our electric truck specialist, David Price, is actively collaborating with customers to facilitate their transition to using electric trucks. Through initiatives like the integration of electric vans into our fleet and supporting customers on their carbon-free journey, we are not only reducing our carbon footprint but also spearheading a larger movement towards sustainable transportation.  We invite businesses still unsure about their electric future, to follow our lead and explore the transformative potential of electric mobility. Together, we can drive positive change and create a more sustainable world for generations to come. Speak to an HTC Group specialist today for honest, effective support.
